Mavag AG finds a Global
Partner

Stalder, President of Mavag AG, a leading supplier of highly
engineered critical equipment for the pharmaceutical, fine chemical and biotech
industries, has secured its future with a new global partner. Scherrer AG has
sold 100% of its holding in Mavag to GMM-Pfaudler Ltd. of Mumbai, India.
GMM - Pfaudler Ltd. is India’s leading manufacturer of
glass lined equipment and other chemical process equipment in exotic metals.
With more
international customers increasing their investments in the Asian markets such
as India and China,
Mavag’s products and technologies will now have access to these growing
markets. Swiss technology and engineering at Mavag complemented by the large
manufacturing and marketing resource available at GMM provide very good market
chances.
GMM - Pfaudler Ltd., based in Mumbai,
India, is a subsidiary of USA
based Pfaudler Inc. a unit of Robbins & Myers Inc. Of
Dayton, Ohio. Some Mavag products, which in the
past have been supplied only in the European market, will now be made available
to US customers also.
Mavag AG will continue to manufacture there products
like filtration equipment, dryers, fermenters and magnetic agitators at the
plant in Neunkirch with the same personal and management. Marketing, sales and
engineering will in the future act in a global market.
